Peanut Butter Cookies

Posted on

Nothing better than baking cookies on a cold warm blustery day. With an old farm house and lots of drafty windows, it sure helps to take the chill out. This is a simple recipe I have been making for years. I don’t know where I originally got it.

Peanut Butter Cookies

1 1/4 cup flour, sift or stir before measuring
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Sift together flour salt and baking powder, set aside. Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars; beat in vanilla and egg. Stir flour mixture, blending well.  Shape mixture into 3/4 inch balls; place on greased baking sheets.

Flatten each cookie with the tines of a fork; dip fork in flour periodically to keep it from sticking to the peanut butter cookie dough.

Bake peanut butter cookies at 375 Degrees for 10-12 minutes.

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
