Sweet and Sour Country Ribs

countryribs.jpgNot much to this recipe, but my family loves it.  I purchase boneless pork country style ribs.  Salt and pepper both sides and sear in pan till browned on both sides.  Place in a dutch oven or large baking dish, and cook in a 275 degree oven for 2 hours.  Check half way through to make sure there is liquid.  It should be cooking in its juices.  At two hours remove and drain off all liquids. contadina1.jpg

Add your sweet and sour sauce.  I use Contadina Sweet and Sour.  It is hard to find, usually in the Asian food section and is in a can.  Cook an additional 30 minutes.  Serve over Rice and a side of Asian Green Beans.

Optional:  You can also start these in the crock pot and finish them off with sauce later in the day.

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
