Daffodil Dandy

It has been years since I have heard that. When Chris and I became first time homeowners, Chris would call and ask my dad questions about yard work, how to fix this, etc. So in our first house on 64th street, he called and told my father that he planted several dozen daffodil bulbs. The first thing my dad said is “Are you sure you got the right side of the bulb pointing up?” He went on to tell him that if he put them in the wrong direction that they would grow crooked. Well that started years worth of laughter and yearly calls to see whose daffodills were coming up first. Well here ya go dad! It is February 20th and we have a few blooming on the side yard.

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
