Paige’s Visit

Today Paige came down to have lunch with me and just spend the day hanging out. It was so great to see her. It has been a few months since we have been able to get together. She is doing great. Holding down two jobs, going to school, managing being on her own and having a great time while doing it.

We had lunch at Abby’s, Taco Chop! For those of you who don’t know what that is, it is Paiges all time favorite pizza, a chicken taco pizza, cut up into little bite sized pieces. It is done with a mini pizza. It is amazing how hard it is to finish. Seems like that pizza grows.

After pizza we came home to drop off the second car and take mine into town. Baxter was in heaven. His sis came home. He ran circles, tail was wagging and wouldn’t leave her alone for the first 15 minutes she was home. She checked out her bedroom, and said… “My bed is so small!” I told her it was because it wasn’t covered in all her clothes and crap. lol She was amazed at how big the dog and the cat had gotten. It wasn’t THAT long ago she was here. At least she didn’t say how big MOM and Dad had gotten. 🙂

We then went into town. The intentions were Cold Stone, car wash and Ross. She was going to introduce me to the ‘skinny’ ice cream they have. (She is a cold stone jingle girl) We never made the Cold Stone trip. We did however, wash my dirty car, and get a shopping trip in at Ross. I have been wanting to go, but it is no fun by yourself. We had dressing rooms across from each other and would open the door at the same time and show each other our new items. We both bought several things to take home.

Dinner was Thursday night chicken enchiladas and Survivor. To be followed by Grays Anatomy. She is hooked on the show and told her dad to be quiet and watch. Shows end Chris had to admit it was better than survivor. Woohoo! Boy am I glad to hear that. Getting tired of Survivor. Maybe she can convert him from Enchiladas too? Doubt it.

It was a great day. I have missed Paige so much. We had a good time together. I hope to get together a bit more often. The only thing that could have made it better was to have Kailey there with us. We are plotting that one. *grin*

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
