Splurge Day

So the south beach diet has been working and Chris and I are feeling better all around. But this past weekend we decided to have a splurge day. We went to Mary’s Garden, picked up our fresh produce for the next few days, then we decided to try Seraffino’s an Italian place in Canyonville for lunch. We decided our best bet was a small pizza to split with more veggies than meat. So we ordered the Polynesian, with Canadian bacon and veggies. It was delicious. With a Top Drop Ale to Chase it. Later that day we were pretty much done for. I know now why we don’t eat a lot of white flour.

We then decided since our energy level was zapped that we would go see a movie. So we marinated some petite sirloins, and headed out. Pirates Of The Caribbean look out!

Two and a half hours later, a small popcorn, medium soda, and we were feeling even more full. LOL We decided that WE ate TOO much and that splurge was not such a great idea, in moderation maybe?

The movie left us a bit disappointed, we had heard so much about it. The first one was incredible. So I am hoping the third is amazing!

So the moral of the story is? Moderation baby! But what a nice weekend we had.

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
