Empty Nest Syndrome

Posted on

July 26, 2006

It has been a little over a month since my youngest daughter graduated High School. She is now off on her own, working and starting life as a young adult. Being thrown into the throngs of the “empty nest” came too quickly. I thought I would have more time to prepare! After all it took 20 years to get to this point. lol

My oldest daughter is living in the same town as her sister, but not
for long. She will be moving to North Carolina in a few weeks. It is exciting for her, but sad to have such distance. I plan on using my credit card miles ALOT!

So with both my kids moving on in life, so is it time for me to explore and enjoy this time too. I have a list full of things I want to do, try, explore, and begin. I can see many projects started, and never finished just from the sure excitement of starting something new.

This is the first on my list of things to do: Start a Blog How cool is that!

About heylaydee

An average cook, an enthusiasm for experimenting and trying new things, is the reason for this blog. That and I found myself in the “empty nest” syndrome and needed an outlet. So I picked up the camera that was collecting dust, got out the pile of recipes, contacted friends and family for their favorites and starting cooking again. What could be better than a glass of wine, a hot stove, and creativity? Come along for the ride. I will be blogging about food, family, and anything else that inspires me.
